The PowerRouter is a solar inverter/charger installed in domestic residences in order to convert and route renewable energy between solar panels, batteries and the electricity grid.

Identifying features
The potentially affected PowerRouters are only those: - supplied and installed in Australia between October 2011 and November 2012; - with model numbers PR30S, PR37S, PR50S, PR30SB, PR37SB and PR50SB; and - with a serial number that includes the capital letter B. PowerRouters that do not fit all these 3 criteria are not affected.

The potentially affected PowerRouters are only those:
- supplied and installed in Australia between October 2011 and November 2012;
- with model numbers PR30S, PR37S, PR50S, PR30SB, PR37SB and PR50SB; and
- with a serial number that includes the capital letter B.

PowerRouters that do not fit all these 3 criteria are not affected.

Reasons the product is recalled

Affected PowerRouters may experience a failure of an electronic component and this can result in an internal smouldering in the unit.

The hazards to consumers

If the defect occurs, the product poses a potential fire hazard.

What consumers should do

Consumers who have an affected PowerRouter should immediately turn off the unit following the instructions on the front of the unit. Setec suggests that you contact the person who installed the PowerRouter if you require assistance with this.
