The hazards to consumers
An electrical short circuit to the DPS software can cause the vehicle to suddenly steer left on its own and in some situations,the operator could lose control of the vehicle.
What consumers should do
Dealers have contacted consumers by mail. Consumers are requested to update the DPS Software at a local dealer. The new software has the ability to detect a short circuit and disable the DPS to prevent undesired steering. If the consumer wishes to use their vehicle before the DPS software is updated, they should disable DPS electrical system by removing DPS fuse.
